Seller Acceptance Policy
Document Classification: Internal and Operational Policy
First: Purpose
This Policy aims to establish clear and transparent criteria for accepting Merchants onto the Tajarat Platform, in order to ensure the quality of products and services, regulatory compliance, Customer protection, and the management of operational and legal risks.
Second: Scope of Application
This Policy applies to:
All new registration applications.
Reactivation applications.
Reviews of existing accounts.
Suppliers selling through the Platform.
Any activity that the Platform determines should be subject to this Policy.
Third: General Principles
When accepting Merchants, the Platform adopts the following principles:
Fairness and non-discrimination.
Transparency.
Compliance with laws.
Risk management.
Consumer protection.
Quality of products and services.
Consideration of the nature of the business activity.
Fourth: Basic Acceptance Requirements
For a registration application to be accepted, the applicant must:
Have legal capacity and authority to conduct the activity.
Provide accurate and complete information.
Provide the required documents.
Accept the Merchant Agreement and Platform policies.
Pass verification procedures (KYC).
Have a valid bank account for receiving amounts due.
Not engage in an activity prohibited by or contrary to law.
Fifth: Required Documents
Depending on the nature of the activity, the Platform may request:
Commercial registration.
Commercial licence.
National ID card or passport.
Details of the authorised representative.
Trademark registration certificate, if any.
Certificate of conformity or licence for restricted products.
Bank account details.
Any additional documents required by applicable regulations or risk management.
Sixth: Application Assessment Criteria
The Platform assesses applications against criteria including:
First: Legal Criteria
Validity and accuracy of documents.
Lawfulness of the activity.
Validity of licences.
Second: Commercial Criteria
Product quality.
Product variety.
Ability to maintain stock.
Operational readiness.
Third: Compliance Criteria
Verification results.
Risk level.
Known previous violations.
Compliance with Platform policies.
Seventh: Application Decision
After completing the review, the Platform may issue one of the following decisions:
Acceptance
Where all requirements have been satisfied.
Conditional Acceptance
Where certain information or documents must be completed within a specified period.
Application Suspension
Where the case requires additional review.
Application Rejection
Where the basic requirements have not been met or material grounds preventing acceptance are identified.
Eighth: Grounds for Rejection
An application may be rejected in the following cases:
Providing inaccurate information or documents.
Conducting a prohibited activity.
Failure to complete registration requirements within the specified period.
The existence of high legal or operational risks that cannot reasonably be mitigated.
The issuance of judgments or decisions prohibiting the conduct of the activity.
Repeated attempts to register using misleading information.
The rejection decision will state reasons to the extent that doing so does not compromise investigations, security requirements, or confidentiality.
Ninth: Reapplication
An applicant may reapply after remedying the grounds for rejection or completing missing requirements. Reapplication does not create any obligation on the Platform to accept the application.
Tenth: Review of Existing Accounts
The Platform may reassess the eligibility of any Merchant where:
Licences have expired.
The business activity has changed.
The owner or authorised representative has changed.
New risk indicators have arisen.
Serious or repeated violations have occurred.
A competent authority requests such review.
Eleventh: Reactivation
An account may be reactivated where:
The grounds for suspension or rejection have ceased to exist.
The requirements have been completed.
The Merchant has passed any additional review requested by the Platform.
Twelfth: Appeals
An applicant or Merchant may submit an appeal against a rejection or suspension decision within fifteen (15) days from the date of notification, stating the grounds and attaching supporting documents.
The Platform will review the appeal and notify the applicant of its decision within a reasonable period.
Thirteenth: Document Retention
The Platform retains submitted documents in accordance with its data-retention policy, subject to confidentiality and personal-data-protection requirements.
Fourteenth: Policy Review
This Policy is reviewed periodically and may be amended to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational changes. Amendments will apply to future applications or upon reassessment.
