Product Compliance Policy
Tajarat Platform
First: Purpose
This Policy aims to ensure that all products offered through the Tajarat Platform comply with the laws, regulations, and technical standards applicable in the State of Qatar, in order to protect consumers, strengthen trust in the Platform, and reduce legal and operational risks.
Second: Scope of Application
This Policy applies to:
All Merchants.
All products offered.
Suppliers, where applicable.
Local and imported products.
Physical and digital products, where the Platform permits them.
Third: General Principles
The Platform adopts the following principles:
Consumer safety is a priority.
Compliance with laws and regulations.
Transparency in product listings.
Shared responsibility between the Platform and the Merchant, each within the scope of her or its role.
Prompt handling of non-compliant or dangerous products.
Fourth: Merchant Responsibility
The Merchant must:
Offer only products that may lawfully be traded.
Ensure that products comply with mandatory standards.
Obtain required licences or certificates, where applicable.
Provide an accurate and non-misleading description of the product.
Update product information whenever a material change occurs.
Retain documents evidencing the product's source and safety where required.
Fifth: Restricted Products
Certain products are subject to additional requirements before they may be listed, such as:
Cosmetics.
Medical devices.
Dietary supplements.
Food products.
Children's toys.
Electrical appliances.
Any products identified by the competent authorities.
The Platform may request documents demonstrating compliance with these requirements.
Sixth: Prohibited Products
It is prohibited to offer or sell any product that:
Is prohibited by law.
Is counterfeit or infringes intellectual property rights.
Has expired.
Poses a health or safety risk.
Is subject to an official ban or recall decision.
Conflicts with public order or public morals.
The Merchant must remove any such products immediately upon becoming aware of the non-compliance.
Seventh: Product Review
The Platform may, at any time:
Review product information.
Request additional documents or certificates.
Temporarily suspend a product listing.
Remove a product if it is found to be non-compliant.
Reject a product before publication.
Publication of a product does not constitute final approval of its compliance, and responsibility for compliance remains with the Merchant.
Eighth: Product Recalls
If a product is found to pose a risk or becomes subject to a recall decision, the Merchant must:
Stop selling it immediately.
Notify the Platform without delay.
Cooperate in withdrawing the product from the market.
Address Customer complaints relating to the product.
Comply with any instructions issued by the competent authorities.
Ninth: Product-Related Complaints
The Platform will receive reports concerning product safety or non-compliance and may:
Request information from the Merchant.
Suspend the product pending completion of the review.
Remove the product if the violation is established.
Refer the matter to the competent authorities where necessary.
Tenth: Corrective Measures
If a violation is established, the Platform may take one or more of the following measures:
Require correction of the product information.
Suspend the product.
Remove the product.
Temporarily suspend the Merchant's account.
Terminate the agreement in serious or repeated cases.
Notify the competent authorities where legally required.
These measures will be applied in accordance with the principle of proportionality, while giving the Merchant an opportunity to submit her observations whenever reasonably possible.
Eleventh: Document Retention
The Merchant must retain documents relating to the source, compliance, and safety of products for the period required by law or Platform policies and provide them upon request within a reasonable period.
Twelfth: Policy Review
This Policy is reviewed periodically and may be amended where required by:
Laws and regulations.
Decisions of competent authorities.
Safety requirements.
Development of the Platform's business.
