Anti-Money Laundering & Know Your Customer Policy (AML/KYC)

First: Purpose

This Policy aims to establish an appropriate framework for verifying the identity of Platform users and managing risks associated with misuse of its services for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or other financial crimes, in a manner proportionate to the nature of the Platform's business and in compliance with the laws and regulations in force in the State of Qatar.

Second: Scope of Application

This Policy applies to:

Merchants.

Suppliers.

Service providers that receive payments from the Platform.

Any other parties whose relationship with the Platform, in the Platform's assessment, requires verification procedures.

Third: General Principles

The Platform adopts the following principles:

Verify Merchant identity before activating accounts or where reasonable grounds exist.

Apply a risk-based approach.

Retain verification records for the periods required by applicable rules.

Report suspicious activity where there is a legal obligation to do so.

Review information periodically or when material changes occur.

Fourth: Verification Procedures (KYC)

Depending on the nature of the activity and the level of risk, the Platform may request the following information or documents:

Full name or trade name.

National identity card or passport.

Commercial registration or commercial licence.

Business address.

Contact details.

Bank account details.

Details of the legal or authorised representative.

Ultimate beneficial owner information, where applicable.

Any additional documents required by law or risk management.

The Platform may re-verify this information periodically or where there is reason to suspect that it is inaccurate.

Fifth: Risk Classification

The Platform adopts a simplified risk classification including:

Low

Complete information.

Ordinary business activity.

No negative indicators.

Medium

New business activity.

Products presenting higher risks.

Certain non-material information is incomplete.

High

Incomplete or inconsistent documents.

Repeated changes in business or bank-account information.

Indicators of unjustified use of multiple accounts.

Serious reports or complaints relating to the activity.

The Platform may apply enhanced verification procedures to high-risk cases.

Sixth: Ongoing Monitoring

The Platform conducts periodic reviews of transactions to identify unusual activities, such as:

A sudden increase in sales volume.

A high number of returns or chargebacks.

Unjustified changes to account information.

Use of multiple payment methods or accounts without justification.

Any patterns that may indicate misuse of the Platform.

The presence of such indicators does not constitute evidence of a violation; it requires review.

Seventh: Actions Where Suspicion Arises

Where there are reasonable grounds for suspicion, the Platform may:

Request additional information or documents.

Temporarily suspend certain transactions or the account.

Delay financial settlements associated with the case.

Refer the matter to the legal or compliance function.

Notify competent authorities where required by law.

The Platform will observe the principle of proportionality and will not take measures exceeding what is warranted by the nature of the risk.

Eighth: Record Retention

The Platform retains verification records and related documents for the period required by law or by risk-management requirements, while applying appropriate controls to protect personal data.

Ninth: Responsibilities of the Parties

Platform Responsibilities

Carry out verification procedures.

Update risk-assessment criteria.

Train relevant employees.

Protect the confidentiality of information.

Cooperate with competent authorities where appropriate.

Merchant Responsibilities

Provide accurate and up-to-date information.

Notify the Platform of any material change.

Cooperate with verification procedures.

Not use the Platform for any unlawful activity.

Tenth: Confidentiality

All information collected under this Policy is treated confidentially and may be disclosed only where permitted or required by law or with the data subject's consent.

Eleventh: Policy Review

This Policy is reviewed periodically or when material legislative, regulatory, or operational changes occur and may be amended as the Platform's business develops.

Appendix: Indicators Requiring Additional Verification

Seller Code of Conduct

First: Purpose

This Code sets out the professional and ethical standards that all Merchants must observe when using the Tajarat Platform, in order to ensure a safe, fair, and transparent commercial environment and to preserve Customer trust and the Platform's reputation.

Second: Scope of Application

This Code applies to:

All Merchants.

Merchant representatives and employees.

Any person using a Merchant account.

Suppliers dealing with the Platform through Merchant accounts.

Third: General Principles

The Merchant must adhere to the following principles:

Integrity.

Transparency.

Respect for Customers.

Fair competition.

Compliance with laws.

Preservation of the Platform's reputation.

Respect for intellectual property rights.

Protection of personal data.

Fourth: Professional Conduct

The Merchant must:

Treat Customers respectfully and professionally.

Respond to enquiries and complaints within specified periods.

Fulfil orders within the agreed time.

Provide accurate and non-misleading information.

Cooperate with the Platform in resolving any dispute.

Fifth: Product Quality

The Merchant must:

Offer genuine products that comply with applicable laws.

Provide descriptions and images that accurately represent products.

Maintain product quality.

Update inventory continuously.

Not sell expired, counterfeit, or prohibited products.

Sixth: Fair Pricing

The Merchant must not:

List fictitious prices.

Advertise misleading discounts.

Artificially increase prices before promotions.

Charge Customers undisclosed fees.

All prices must be clear and inclusive in accordance with applicable laws and policies.

Seventh: Customer Protection

The Merchant must:

Respect Customer rights.

Maintain the confidentiality of Customer data.

Not use Customer data for unlawful purposes or purposes unrelated to order fulfilment.

Cooperate in processing returns and refunds in accordance with approved policies.

Eighth: Fair Competition

The Merchant must not:

Disparage competitors.

Publish misleading information about third-party products.

Attempt to influence search results or rankings through unlawful means.

Use fraudulent means to gain a competitive advantage.

Exploit system errors to obtain benefits to which she is not entitled.

Ninth: Ratings and Reviews

The Merchant must:

Not publish or purchase fake reviews.

Not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews unless properly disclosed and consistent with Platform policies.

Not pressure Customers to change their reviews.

Respect Customers' right to express their opinions lawfully.

The Platform may review and remove ratings or reviews that are established to violate its policies.

Tenth: Use of the Platform

The Merchant must not:

Use more than one account to circumvent policies.

Share login credentials with unauthorised persons.

Attempt to compromise Platform systems.

Use unauthorised automated software or tools.

Upload harmful or prohibited content.

Eleventh: Intellectual Property

The Merchant must:

Comply with intellectual property rights requirements.

Not use trademarks, images, or content without a right to do so.

Remove any content established to be infringing promptly upon notification.

Cooperate with the Platform in addressing intellectual-property reports.

Twelfth: Reporting Violations

A Merchant or any user may report a violation of this Code through the official channels. The Platform handles reports confidentially and impartially and takes appropriate action after verification.

Thirteenth: Violations and Measures

Where this Code is violated, the Platform may take one or more of the following measures depending on the seriousness and recurrence of the violation:

Notice.

Warning.

Requirement to remedy the violation.

Suspension of a product.

Suspension of certain account features.

Temporary suspension of the account.

Termination of the contractual relationship.

Claim for compensation for direct damages where legally justified.

These measures are applied according to the principles of escalation and proportionality, while giving the Merchant an opportunity to submit observations whenever appropriate and where doing so does not conflict with law, Customer protection, or Platform security.

Fourteenth: Training and Awareness

The Platform may provide guidance materials or training programmes to familiarise Merchants with this Code and best practices in e-commerce. Reviewing such materials forms part of the Merchant's responsibility for maintaining the quality of her services.

Fifteenth: Code Review

This Code is reviewed periodically and may be amended to reflect legal, operational, or technical developments. Merchants will be notified of material amendments in accordance with the approved mechanisms.
